On December 17th, a group of armed men seized and torched a passenger bus on a highway in Thailand’s Southern Province of Yala. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident. The bus driver said that, while heading to Bangkok, a group of 10-15 militants forced the bus to stop and ordered the 13 passengers and crew to disembark. They then set fire to the vehicle. Before leaving, the armed men cut down trees and used nails to block the road in an attempt to prevent Thai officials from pursuing them. The incident is now under investigation by the Thai military.
