On August the ninth, a cave rescuer had to be rescued himself when he made a wrong turn and his vehicle was swept away by a flash flood in Thailand’s Nakorn Si Thammarat. Forty five year old Danish national Claus Rasmussen, who took part in the rescue of the thirteen trapped young footballers last month, and thirty seven year old Singaporean Seetoh Yiyu were stranded in their truck as it floated downstream in the fast flowing waters. Rescuers and over a hundred local residents managed to grapple the truck to safety. Claus said that the truck’s GPS had led them on a short-cut where they were swept into a canal.
