Jetstar Emergency Landing
02-10-2017
At approximately 11.20 am on Monday morning northern Thailand’s Chiang Mai International Airport was asked prepare for the emergency landing of a Jet Star Airlines plane, which was en route from Hanoi in Vietnam to Calcutta in India with 188 passengers and crew on board.
The emergency landing was caused by reports of smoke in the aircraft’s hold. The aircraft landed safely and the passengers were all evacuated.
All luggage and cargo was unloaded from the hold and an initial investigation indicates that the smoke was from a faulty electronic device in a passenger’s luggage.
