In the late evening of December the eighteenth, emergency services were called in to rescue foreign tourists trapped by flash floods on Thailand’s Samui Island. Thirteen tourists, including Europeans, Chinese and a three year old girl, got stuck near Na Muang Waterfall for over two hours as floods cut access routes into and out of the area. Rescue teams joined forces with park rangers in the night time search operation. It took almost an hour to locate all thirteen tourists and they are now safe and sound. Many provinces in the South of Thailand are currently flooded as the monsoon season arrives later in the year for the South.
