During the afternoon of October the second, emergency services were called to a road incident involving foreign tourists in Thailand’s Krabi. Rescuers rushed to extract ten injured passengers from a public transport van lying in a roadside ditch. Two of the rescued tourists were Dutch nationals who had suffered head injuries and were sent to hospital. Thirty five year old Khomsan Chanthong, the driver, said after he picked up the passengers from Samui Island to go to Krabi, he lost control of the van. Police believe that the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel since the road is wide and straight but the investigation is ongoing.
