On July the eighteenth, the thirteen young footballers rescued from the cave in Thailand’s Chiangrai appeared in public, alongside the Thai Navy Seals, for the first time since their release from hospital. Doctors said the boys and their coach have returned to perfect health in both body and mind and that they gained about three kilograms each. The boys spoke of their ordeal, saying they only lived on the water dripping from the rocks and were trying to dig another way out of the cave when the British divers found them. The footballers paid tribute to Saman Kunan, the former Thai Navy Seal diver who lost his life trying to rescue them. Four out of the thirteen said they want to be Navy Seal divers when they grow up. The group entered the cave on June 23rd and some remained trapped for 18 days.
