A thirty five year-old artist, Kritsana Napoonpol, from Thailand’s Nakornpathom province has created clay figurines depicting the heroes of the Tham Luang cave rescue. The four statuettes made so far are of rescue operations chief and former governor of Chiangrai Narongsak Osottanakorn, former Thai navy seal diver Saman Kunan, head of the Thai Water Well Association Sutin Chaichompoo and a famous monk from Myanmar Kruba Boonchoom. Kritsana says he created them to pay tribute to the dedication of four heroes of what was thought to be an impossible rescue operation. Kritsana plans to create more figurines of other Thai and foreign rescuers.
