ARMY AIRCRAFT CRASH

During the afternoon of July the fifteenth, a Thai army aircraft, carrying four people, crashed in woods near the Myanmar border. The Cessna-182 left Thailand’s Mae Hong Son airport at eleven AM to support a patrol task force monitoring natural resource destruction. It disappeared from radar around one thirty PM. The wreckage was found in woods near Huay Phueng village of Mae Hong Son. Lieutenant Nareupol Pookthong and Lieutenant Wiroj Taengkratok, the two pilots and Lieutenant Khemarat Doungkaew are found dead. Sgt-Major 1st Class Chatchanan Kheunkaew, another passenger was found alive suffering broken bones and burns to sixty per cent of his body. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
