On May the second, the local government in Thailand’s Lopburi Province launched a pigeon crack down campaign in an attempt to reduce the pigeon population, which increases every year. Plaek Theparak, the district chief who started the campaign, demonstrated various recipes for cooking pigeons, insisting that pigeons are safe to eat as long as they’re cooked thoroughly. Lopburi’s local administration are also offering to buy live pigeons at ten baht each for a minimum batch of 200 birds, prompting residents to set traps to catch the birds.
