On March the twenty seventh, a two year old Charolais bull was reported dead at a farm in Thailand’s city of Surin, one of the country’s rabies ‘red zones’. The clip, recorded by its owner, shows the cow had a spasm before its death. After being confirmed that the cow died of rabies, livestock officers ordered the farm to be temporary closed and all of the farm’s cattle be vaccinated against rabies. In addition, cats, dogs and cattle in nearby areas are also to be vaccinated to prevent the spread of the virus. To date, one human death from rabies has been reported in Surin.
