Wat Bampenboon school in Thailand’s Chai Nat province has opened the Bampenboon Barber shop, where youngsters as young as 11 are giving haircuts to fellow students. The price of a haircut varies from five to ten baht. Those without money can help clean the shop to pay for their haircut. The school’s director said that the shop is part of a revamped curriculum, where students spend less time in the classroom and more time learning skills to improve their career prospects. It took only three months to learn the skills and some of the money raised is used to maintain the equipment and the rest is divided among the hairdressers.
