A replica of Buddha’s head has been removed from a beach on Thailand‘s famous Samui Island after a resort owner was heavily criticized for using it to decorate his resort, attracting tourists to touch it and pose for photos in an inappropriate manner. This caused offence to some Thai Buddhists. Thai officials have visited the resort, which is operated by an Israeli, and demanded that the head be removed within 15 days. A local monk explained that the Buddha’s head represents Buddha. To use Buddha’s head as decoration is not appropriate.
