Early in the morning of January the twenty sixth, police and fire crews responded to reports of a fire at Thailand’s Khon Kaen International Airport. Firemen took over an hour to extinguish the blaze which appears to have started in a power control room. Over a thousand passengers were evacuated from the terminal as a result of heavy smoke and a power cut, but there are no reports of injuries. Flights have now resumed, however check-in is temporarily at a hotel adjacent to the airport terminal.
