Thai media has been reporting that, on the night of January the twenty fourth, city bus number 510 caught fire forcing over 40 passengers to run for their lives. Fortunately, no one was injured. The incident took place near Bangkok’s famous Jatuchak weekend market. Pramote Ngamla, the driver, said that he didn’t realize his bus was on fire until a motor cyclist pointed it out. He tried in vain to extinguish the fire in the rear engine compartment. Finally, he risked his life to get back onto the burning bus to turn off the fuel valve to prevent a possible explosion.
