On the night of January the twenty second, Arun Chaiyan, Chief of the airport Employment Office, led Labor Ministry officials to prevent a group of 30 Thai men and women from travelling to South Korea to work illegally. The group, aged between 35 and 50, were found at the check-in counter in Thailand’s Suvarnabhumi airport and were taken for questioning. They initially insisted that they only wanted to visit South Korea as tourists, but later confessed to their real reason for traveling after officials showed them a chat page discussing their plan. Officials released them with a warning and sent them home.
