Southern Airport closed
Thailand’s Nakhon Si Thammarat domestic airport was forced to close on December 7th and 8th after the runways were flooded, causing cancellation of all flights and some bemused passengers were caught unaware due to the short notice given. However, all stranded passengers were taken by airport bus to a neighboring province’s airport instead. A temporary dyke is being built to protect the airport and the floodwater is being pumped out. Flooding in the southern region is still at crisis level and the Thai weather bureau forecasts more rainfall until December 11th.
